Fariba katebifar
Fariba Katebifar is a visual artist and photographer born in Tehran. She holds a university degree in Law, and her artistic practice spans painting, photography, and design.
In several of her painting series, she explores a fusion of visual languages from two distinct worlds: the intricate imagery of traditional Persian miniature painting—particularly from illustrated poetry books—and the expressive, boundary-pushing style of Vincent van Gogh. In some of her works, she reimagines Van Gogh–inspired themes using forms and compositions drawn from classical Iranian art, placing them in a renewed visual context.
Fariba’s professional experience spans a wide range of visual media, from graphic design and digital art to portrait photography, promotional video production, podcast editing, and video-based storytelling. This diversity has shaped a rich visual language and a narrative, multimedia approach in her painting practice.

Persia meets Van Gogh
These three paintings have the theme of combining the style of painting in Persian poetry books with Van Gogh’s painting.
I tried to use paintings by old Iranian painters that are related to the subject of Van Gogh’s painting. Of course, I made some changes depending on the painting space.

Windows on Van Gogh
The first one is two buildings and between them we have a thatched building and two windows. Behind the first window is the thatched buildings of Iran.
The second window of Van Goghs yellow house.
And in the next two drawings, each window is drawn from the inside view.
The last one is still a work in progress. But I wanted you to show it for feedback .
