Robin Hood Artlab
Art is an international language. It contributes to mutual understanding. For that reason, we lovingly support newcomer artists who want to build their future in the Netherlands.
We support artists in different disciplines, such as painters, writers, videographers, fashion designers, dancers and conceptual artists.
We also support newcomers who are not yet professional artists, but have that ambition.
Robin Hood Artlab is an initiative of Dar al Yasmin Foundation.
What we do
Connecting with artists
When you are a newcomer, especially a refugee, it can be difficult to find your way. As a refugee, you are too often treated as a number. For an artist in this situation, it is difficult to express yourself. We are always looking for the person and want to connect and create space.
Facilitating artists
We facilitate artists by providing customised services. Some artists need materials or a workspace. Others are looking for contacts and connection with an artistic environment. It can be helpful to know more about Dutch or European art world and traditions. But also to meet newcomer colleagues and share thoughts with them. In this, we would like to facilitate artists.
Promoting artists
We help artists promote their work and their existence as artists. We do this by publishing about them, using social media and organising exhibitions. We also bring them into contact with the art world in Nijmegen and beyond.
